It’s the time of the year where Spb Software House conducts their annual Pocket PC census. According to the blurb, “The first two surveys, conducted in 2004 and 2005, provided priceless information about the whole Pocket PC community and had a great response. This year the survey should show even more quantitative and qualitative changes in the community concerning rapid Pocket PC market growth, which will define the subsequent condition of the branch. According to the figures of the year 2005 the Pocket PC market increased by 75.1% and continues to grow.”…

This years’ nominations for the Pocket PC Magazine software awards have been finalised, with the nominees now available to view to the public. There has been a few changes to the categories and plenty of new nominations - although a few golden oldies are in the collection. Also in the list is G-Prime Xtreme, which is of course completely free if you have a Click-Pay-Go account……

Menneisyys has updated, or in his words, almost completely rewritten the The Definitive Multiplayer PPC Game Roundup. It now contains “everything about PPC2k, PPC2k2 and WM5 compliance too, along with stress tests over both Wi-Fi and Bluetooth, updated reviews of titles that have new versions and completely new reviews of new games like the excellent The Great Gold Rush. The comparison chart, in addition to the added operating system compliance data, now contains a far more thorough breakdown of networking compliance.”…

One of Pocket PC gaming’s biggest names, Jason Surguine, has gone head to head with TK-422, IGN’s homicidal gamer droid. In the interview, he talks about “the challenges in developing games for a handheld platform, multiplayer gaming, space sims, lightsabers, the PDA marketplace, what foods Droids like to eat, and gives advice for potential Pocket PC game developers.” Read the full article here….
