Information is now leaked that looks fairly official. Couple this with rumors of the device’s availability, and I’d say that Sprint users now have another choice in the Windows Mobile arena!

HTC Artemis and Trinity Thoughts

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

Both Chris from Mobility Site, and Arne from the::unwired have a bit to say about the upcoming HTC Artemis and HTC Trinity, with a picture or two for show as well. In my opinion, the Trinity doesn’t look too bad, but the Artemis still looks a little queer - but hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Wink

Use Traffic Vizzion to View Traffic Conditions Ahead

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

“How many times have you found yourself stuck in a traffic jam, construction zone, or even a blizzard, and wished you could have seen the road conditions up ahead before you got there? Radio reports and roadside signs are all well and good, but all too often you’re already caught up in a problem before you hear about it. Traffic Vizzion (pronounced “vision”) makes it possible to keep an eye on the road ahead by bringing live images from thousands of traffic cameras located across North America and the UK to your cell phone or Pocket PC. And, uniquely, if you have a built-in or external GPS, Traffic Vizzion patent pending technology can automatically show cameras near to your current location, or along the road directly ahead of you, long before you get there!”

Traffic Vizzion only requires a wireless data connection, though additional value is provided if you have a GPS receiver as well. With GPS, you can leverage downloadable Yahoo! maps to view your current position at all times and see where nearby cameras are situated. Unfortunately, this service is not available everywhere; consult this page first to determine if your desired city is supported.

Trial service is available. Standard subscription cost is $5/month or $39/year. Both Pocket PC and Windows Smartphone devices are supported. If anyone out there has every tried this great-sounding service (or something similar), give us your thoughts!

“You step off an airplane in a city you’ve never visited?you drive into an unfamiliar part town. Now with on-the-go Map and Location Info, you’ll never be out of touch with what’s around you ever again!”

Earthcomber is a free and innovative service that leverages your GPS receiver to provide you with local points of interests based on your location at any given time. Now you can actually download maps over the air (assuming you have a wireless data connection of course) which comes in real handy if you’re in a rush and don’t have time to prepare for a trip beforehand. This is in addition to existing features that allow you to find local theatres/movies, shops, restaurants, ATMs, turn-by-turn directions, etc. If you’re always on the go and have a GPS receiver handy, I encourage you to check this out!

Symbian Claims To Leave Windows Mobile In The Dust

Tuesday, August 29th, 2006

“A SUPER confident Symbian is claiming to have kept the Beast of Redmond at bay with a 65 to 70 per cent share of the smartphone sector, according to CEO, Nigel Clifford.”

Doesn’t it also depend on how you define what a smartphone is? I’d say some Symbian powered models are little more than feature phones.
