“…some of the year’s greatest joys weren’t new products, but aspects of new products. Here and there, you could find tiny touches of brilliance:…Voice mail is a delightful invention. But trying to remember which keys to press - for replay, skip, delete and so on - is not so delightful, especially if you have more than one voice mail system to learn. Thanks to Palm, then, for adding VCR-style buttons on the touch screen of its coming Treo 700W…

“Normally we’re not all about the softcore shots of foreign phones straight up with no chaser — why taunt ourselves like that? — but we kind of couldn’t resist the urge with the M8000. After all, it is the first consumer device we’ve heard of with either WiBro or WiMax, and once we came to find out it’s also got DMB support, TV-out, integrated VoIP, a stubbier, smaller antenna, and that long-awaited camera module not found in the i730, well, we…

I reported back in March that the Samsung i830 passed FCC approval — it’s a Pocket PC Phone with the same formfactor as and a near-identical featureset to the i730, minus WiFi but with GSM roaming (e.g., CDMA 800/1900 and GSM 900/1800) to enable international use. Now, it looks like it’s slated to hit Verizon early next year (around…

With the release of Exchange 2003 Service Pack 2, which allowed me to synchronize my tasks over the air, I find myself syncing with my desktop less often. I’d rather forgo appointment and contact sync as those are relatively static while my tasks are updated/completed/added dozens of times a day. I noticed yesterday it had been 2 days since I had docked my K-Jam and I wasn’t…

“We recently covered another SCOTTeVEST (SeV) 4.0 product, the Sport Tec jacket, and in the interest of being free and fair to all jackets (okay, so I still have a jacket problem), we have decided to take a closer look at the 237D. But rather than cover every nit pick detail again (as a lot of them are the same), just the highlights and differences are covered here. The 237D is slated as a jacket that can be worn 237 days of the year. And in my…
